اليونيفيل تساعد بلدية ميس في المحافظة على بيئة نظيفة وخضراء


افتتح قائد الكتيبة النيبالية في القطاع الشرقي لليونيفيل المقدّم سانجاي مشروع تقديم مستوعبات للنفايات في بلدة ميس الجبل بحضور رئيس البلدية ووحدة التعاون المدني العسكري في القطاع الشرقي وأعضاء البلدية وممثلين عن الجيش اللبناني وفعاليات محلية.

بلغت كلفة المشروع 20 ألف دولار وهو عبارة عن 70 مستوعب كبير من الحديد لوضعهم على الطريق الرئيسي للبلدة بهدف الحد من تلوث الهواء والأرض والماء وتفشي الأمراض. كما تساهم هذه المستوعبات في دعم عملية جمع النفايات في الشاحنات وتسريع نقلها الى معمل الفرز.

كما يشكل هذا المشروع نموذجاً يحتدى به من قبل البلدات الجنوبية الأخرى إذ يسنح برفع مستوى التوعية المنزلية بشأن معالجة مشكلة النفايات.

تعمل اليونيفيل على دعم السكان المحليين والحكومة وفقاً لقرار مجلس الأمن 1701. كما تقوم بإنجاز مشاريع ذات تأثير مباشر للإستجابة لحاجات السكان الملحة ودعم السلطات المحلية. وقد ثمّن رئيس البلدية وقائد الكتيبة النيبالية التفاهم والتعاون المشترك بين عناصر اليونيفيل والسكان المحليين.

UNIFIL’S SECEAST AIDS MEISS EL JABAL MUNICIPALITY TO KEEP CLEAN AND GREEN ENVIRONMENT.

1. UNIFIL’S Sector East Nepalese Battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Sanjay inaugurated project “Provision of rubbish bins” at Meiss El Jabal today in the presence of guests Mayor of village, Mr. Abd El Menem Shukair UNIFIL SECEAST CIMIC team, municipality members, Lebanese Armed Forces representatives and local authorities.

2. The project “Rubbish Bins”, costed $ 20,000 which consists of providing 70 large metallic garbage bins on the main street with the view to alleviate the problem of pollution of air, ground and water and also the spread of diseases in the village. The required bins also support the process of putting the garbage in the garbage truck and speeds up the transportation of the collected garbage to the sorting facility in view of sorting it.

3. The project would provide a best practice to be followed by other municipalities in the South. It will bring a change with regard to sorting out the problem at household level for raising environmental awareness.

4. UNIFIL works for the welfare of the general population in Lebanon and to strengthen the government in accordance to the United Nation resolution 1701 mandate. UNIFIL as well as national contingents also implement Quick Impact Projects intended to address some of the most pressing needs of the local population and support local authorities. Both Mayor and Nepalese commander were appreciating the mutual understanding and collaboration among UNIFIL personals and Locals.
