قائد وحدة التعاون المدني العسكري في القطاع الشرقي المقدم خوان سوتو غونزالس إفتتح اليوم مشروع تجهيزات وأثاث في مركز المسنين في بلدة حولا ، بحضور رئيس بلدية البلدة، السيد عُدي مصطفى وومثلين من الجيش اللبناني وفعاليات محلية وأفراد من القوات الدولية .

حيت تم توقيع وثيقة تسليم المشروع من قبل قائد وحدة التعاون المدني العسكري في القطاع الشرقي ورئيس بلدية حولا، ما قد اظهر بشكل جلي مدى التفاهم والتعاون بين قوات اليونفيل والمجتمع المحلي . وأن هذا المشروع الممول من اليونفيل والمملكة الإسبانية بمبلغ وقدره 15600 دولار اميركي والذي هو كناية عن تقديم تلاجة وبراد وجلاية اوتوماتيكية وسخان للسندويتشات وموزع مياه واوانٍ فخارية وعدد من المستلزمات بهدف تحسين المطبخ وبعض الأثاث لصالة الترفيه وغرف المنامة ( ثمانية اسرة لكل غرفة منامة ).

الهدف الرئيسي لهذا المشروع هو المساهمة بإنماء المنطقة بما ينسجم مع القرار الأممي رقم 1701 كما أن هذا المشروع سيعود بالفائدة للمسنين من سكان البلدة.

رئيس البلدية بدوره عبّر عن شكره للمشروع ، كما أن قائد وحدة التعاون المدني العسكري أشاد بأواصر العلاقة القائمة بين قوات الأمم المتحدة والسكان المحليين مشيراً إلى أن المشروع سيساعد المسنين بتحسين حياتهم وتوفير امكانية الراحة والترفيه والطعام وإقامة المناسبات الإجتماعية بالشكل المناسب

إن أفواج اليونفيل تعمل على دعم هذه المشاريع كمحاولة لتوفير الحاجات الأساسية للسكان المحليين ودعم السلطات المحلية. وغالباً ما تنفذ هذه المشاريع بطلب من البلديات وبالتعاون والتنسيق مع الجمعيات المعنية في الأمم المتحدة والمنظمات غير الحكومية.

KITCHEN EQUIPMENT AND FURNITURE FOR ELDERLY

CENTRE, CO-FUNDED BY UNIFIL AND SPAIN, INAUGURATED IN HOULA

1. UNIFIL’s Sector East CIMIC Chief Lieutenant Colonel Juan Soto Gonzalez inaugurated project “Equipment for elderly centre” in Houla today in the presence of village Mayor, Mr. Oday Mostapha ,municipality officials, Lebanese Armed Forces representatives, other local authorities and UNIFIL peacekeepers.

1. A signature document on the project was exchanged between the CIMIC Chief and the Mayor, who appreciated the mutual understanding and collaboration between UNIFIL personnel and locals. Under this project, co-funded by UNIFIL and SPAIN with a total of US $ 15,600, consist of providing a freezer, a fridge, a dishwasher, a sandwich toaster, a water dispenser, crockery and other utility accessories to improve kitchen facilities and also furniture for the recreation room and various bedrooms (eight beds per bedroom). The aim of this project to contribute to the development of the area in accordance with UN resolution 1701 benefiting to the elderly and old age inhabitants of the village.

2. The Mayor expressed his gratitude for the project. In his speech, the CIMIC Chief stressed on the good ties that connect the local residents and UNIFIL, seeing that the project helps the elderly residents to improve the living standard for rest, recreation, dining facilities and social events with the adequate strength.

3. UNIFIL as well as national contingents develop these kind of projects intended to address some of the most pressing needs of the local population and support local authorities. These projects are often undertaken at the request of municipalities and implemented in coordination with other UN agencies and NGOs.
