إجتماع مع بلدية الخيام من أجل تنفيذ مشاريع فيها Meeting for activities in khiyam

LAS ACTIVIDADES CIVICO-MILITARES (CIMIC) DE LA BRIGADA DEL LIBANO IX

النشاطات المدنيّة العسكريّة التابعة للكتيبة الإسبانيّة التاسعة في لبنان:

منذ وصول الكتيبة التاسعة الى لبنان، والتي تنتمي في غالبيتها الى لواء BRIMZ العاشر ومقرّها في قرطبة، أكملت المشاريع المدنيّة العسكريّة المتبقية من الكتيبة السابقة وشرعت بأُخرى جديدة، بطريقة أن استمرارية العمل كانت وستكون دائماً مضمونة.

لم يكن قد مرّ أسبوع على وصول آخر دفعة من الكتيبة عندما تمّ تدشين مركز للشبيبة في منطقة الخيام القريبة من القاعدة، برعاية الجنرال ريكاردو ألباريث إسبيخو غارثيا، المسؤول عن الكتيبة، ورئيس بلدية الخيام الحاج علي زريق.

صادف التدشين المذكور أعلاه مع أوّل يوم من أيام رمضان الواقع فيه ٢٢ آذار. المشروع هو عبارة عن شراء وتركيب تجهيزات تابعة للصالة الرياضية، ملابس لفريق كرة القدم، بالإضافة الى تجهيزات مكتبية، وقد بلغت كلفته الإجماليّة ٢٠٥,١٠ دولار أميركي بتمويل من اليونيفيل.

تمّ تنفيذ مشروع آخر وهو إعادة تأهيل بركة الدردارة، أيضاً في بلدة الخيام، والذي يهدف الى تحسين البنية التحتية حول البركة حتى يتمكّن السكان من الإرتياد اليها كمنطقة ترفيهية. بدأ المشروع في تموز من العام الجاري وسينتهي في أواخر تشرين الأوّل، وقد بلغت كلفته ٣٧٬٠٠٠ دولا أميركي وهو مموّل بشكل تام من قبل وزارة الدفاع.

أضف الى ذلك مشروع في غاية الأهمية تم إنجازه في المنطقة، وإن لم يكن يبدو عليه ذلك، وهو بناء سياج حول بركة كفرشوبا. هذه البركة التي تقع بمحاذاة الحدود الإسرائيلية، كانت تواجه مشكلة دخول الأبقار من الجانب الآخر للحدود كي تشرب المياه، ممّا أثار احتجاجاً لدى الرعاة اللبنانيين. إن هذا الموضوع قد تمّ بثّه من قِبَل السلطات المحليّة الى حدّ أن بناء السياج كان السبيل الوحيد الذي يمنع الأبقار الإسرائيليّة من الشرب، تاركين البركة من أجل الإستعمال الحصري للأبقار اللبنانيّة. كانت مواد البناء مزوّدة من قِبَل اليونيفيل وورشة العمل قامت بها وحدة المهندسين الإسبانيّة. دُشّن السياج في ٢٧ أيلول برعاية الجنرال المسؤول والسلطات المحليّة.

في ١٧ و١٩ أيلول، تمّ توزيع قمصان إلى الأطفال من المناطق ذات الأغلبية السكانية الإسلامية (السنيّة والشيعيّة) تزامناً مع احتفالات نهاية شهر رمضان (عيد الفطر). تم تسليمها بشكل خاص الى الأطفال المحتاجين ، ويعتبرهذا النشاط وسيلة جيدة للتعرّف إلى السكان المدنيين. إن مجموع القمصان بلغ حوالي ٦٠٠ قميص تمّ توزيعها في مناطق مختلفة.

قبل بضعة أيام ، تحديداً في ٢ تشرين الأول افتتح الجنرال المسؤول والسلطات المحلية ، صفّ للطهي في المدرسة المهنية في مرجعيون ، حيث كانت التجهيزات قد تبرّعت بها إسبانيا بتمويل من وزارة الدفاع و بتكلفة ١٠٬٣٤٠ $ أميركي. في هذه المدرسة سيتم تدريس الطهي.

في ١٠ تشرين الأوّل دُشّن مختبر في ثانوية شبعا وطريق تمّ تأهيله وتعبيده في بلدة كفركلا. حضر التدشين الأوّل نائب القائد العام العقيد بانغبانغ سوديونو الى جانب فعاليات محليّة، و حضر التدشين الثاني الجنرال المسؤول الى جانب رئيس بلدية كفركلا وفعاليات أخرى. بلغت كلفة المختبر ٤٬٤٠٠ دولار أميركي مموّل بشكل تام من قِبَل اليونيفيل، أما الطريق المعبّد بلغت كلفته ٣٢٬٤٠٠ دولار أميركي بتمويل من وزارة الدفاع الإسبانيّة وقد ساهم في تأهيل الطريق وحدة الهندسة العاملة في الكتيبة الإسبانية.

هذه الوحدة كانت تقوم أيضاً بإستخراج المياه من بركة كفركلا التي بنتها وحدة المهندسين التابعة للكتيبة البلجيكية لمنع مياه الأمطار من عبور الحدود الإسرائيلية بإتجاه الأراضي اللبنانية ، على الطريق الذي يربط هذه البلدة مع بلدة العديسة.

في ١٨ تشرين الأوّل تمّ تسليم شهادات قدمتها الكتيبة الأندونيسية لطلاب دورة الميكانيك، والتي بلغت كلفتها ٦٬١٤٠ دولار أميركي. قُدمت دورة الميكانيك إلى الشباب العاطلين عن العمل في منطقة انتشار الكتيبة الاندونيسية واستمرّت ثلاثة أشهر ، ثلاثة أيام في الأسبوع لمدة خمس ساعات في اليوم. أعطى الدروس ٥ معلّمين ينتمون إلى وحدة الهندسة الإندونيسية واستفاد منها ١٢ طالباً.

المشاريع قيد التنفيذ:

هناك مشروع سيتم إنجازه في وقت قريب هو تحسين البنية التحتية في بركة ميس الجبل. إن الهدف الاساسي هو استكمال الجدار التجميلي للبركة بنفس الطريقة الموجودة في الجهة الأمامية وإنشاء في الجهة العليا منصّة ممهّدة للمرور عبرها. هذا التحسّن ليس فقط من أجل ان يستفيد منه أبناء البلدة بل من أجل ابناء البلدات المجاورة، علماً أنه مكان ترفيهي حيث سيتفيد منه أيضاً العائلات المقيمة في الخارج والذين يرتادون المكان من أجل تمضية العطلة. قد تصل كلفة الاستثمار الى ٢١٬٠٠٠ دولار أميركي. تمّ توقيع العقد منذ فترة وجيزة بين القوات الإسبانية ورئيس بلدية البلدة والشركة المتعهّدة.

من المشاريع الأخرى قيد التنفيذ بتمويل من اليونيفيل نذكر ما يلي:

ملعب كرة سلّة في بلدة بليدا بقيمة ٢٤٬٠٠٠ دولار أميركي، حديقة أطفال في بلدة عيترون بقيمة ١٦٬٠٠٠ دولار أميركي وهي بانتظار تدشينها، مركز للدفاع لمدني في بلدة مركبا بقيمة ٨٬٠٦٠ دولار أميركي وهو لا يزال في انتظار التدشين، امدادات كهربائية في بلدة حلتا بقيمة ١٨٬٥٠٠ دولار أميركي وهي أيظاً بانتظار تدشينها. توسيع الطريق العام في بلدة كفرشوبا بقيمة ٢٥٬٣٨٦ دولار أميركي (٢٥٬٠٠٠$) انشاء قناة لتصريف المياه في بلدة محيبيب بقيمة ١١٬٩٣٠ دولار أميركي (١١٬٥٠٠) و اصلاح طريق في بلدة بني حيان بقيمة ٢١٬٨٠٠ دولار أميركي.

بالاضافة الى المشاريع المذكورة سابقاً، و بتمويل من وزارة الدفاع الإسبانية نذكر المشاريع التالية:

انشاء رصيف في بلدة كوكبا بكلفة ٢٩٬٥٠٠$، انشاء حديقة أطفال في بلدة حولا بكلفة ٣١٬٤٠٠$، بناء حائط دعم في بلدة بلاط بكلفة ٢٨٬٣٠٠$، شراء قرطاسية لأطفال المنطقة التي تنتشر فيها القوات الإسبانية بكلفة ٥٬٥٠٠$ بالإضافة الى خمسة مشاريع قيد الدرس الآ وهي تأهيل الطريق المؤدي الى مكب النفايات في بلدة القليعة بكلفة ١٢٬٦٠٠$، تأهيل ملعبي كرة قدم الأوّل في بلدة دبين بكلفة ٢٥٬٣٠٠$ والثاني في بلدة ديرميماس بكلفة ١٧٬١٠٠$، شراء معدات طبية لمستوصف طب الأسنان في بلدة الطيبة بكلفة ١٧٬٩٠٠$ وشراء حاويات للنفايات لبلدة عدشيت القصير بكلفة ٨٬٩٠٠ $

بحسب تقديرنا، ان النشاطات مستمرّة والافتتاحات تشكّل معالم مهمة في مستقبل البعثة.

في المقاطع السابقة لم نذكر المعاينات الطبية (صحة عامة و طبّ اسنان ) طبّ بيطري وطب نفساني التي تُقدّم في جميع بلدات المنطقة في القطاع الشرقي.

في هذا المجال يتم الاعتماد على مساهمة كتائب وألوية أخرى من حيث نوع المساعدة اللازمة. بشكل محدّد، إن طبّ الاسنان يقوم على عاتق الكتيبة الاندونيسية والنبالية و الهندية. منذ ان بدأت المهمة، وفي ما يخصّ المعاينات الطبية الأولية تمّ تنفيذ ١٣ او ١٤ معاينة في الشهر و بمعدل عشرين مريض في كل معاينة، فيكون المجموع ٢٨٠ مريضاً. عادةً لا يتم معالجة الامراض المزمنة. و فيما يخّص الطب البيطري، يقوم عادةً من خلال طلب من قبل المزارعين والرعاة و يتم بذلك معاينة جميع انواع الحيوانات.

هناك أيضاً نشاط مهمّ وهو برنامج ثيربانتس الذي يقدّم دروساً في اللغة الإسبانية للراغبين في البلدات المجاورة. هذا النشاط يقوم به معهد ثيربانتس في بيروت والذي يعتمد على أساتذة من نفس الكتيبة الإسبانية. حتى يومنا هذا، يبلغ عدد الطلاب حوالي 200 مع زيادة ملحوظة في الأسابيع الأخيرة مما يستوجب ٣٠ مدرساً. يبلغ عدد البلدات التي تشارك في هذه الدروس ١٣ بلدة.

يجب ألا ننسى نوعاً آخر من الأنشطة كدعم المهرجانات الشعبية والعمل مع المنظمات غير الحكومية العاملة في المنطقة الاسبانية. في الختام، يجدر ذكر مبادرة تعرف باسم الدفاع المدني ، التي تقوم بتنسيق الجهود بين المؤسسات اللبنانية وقواتها المسلحة وقوات اليونيفيل لمواجهة الكوارث الطبيعية أو اي طارىء بحيث ان الممؤسسة لا يمكن التعامل معها بسبب قلّة الموارد المحليّة ، مثل الحرائق والفيضانات والعواصف الثلجية،الخ... نشأت هذه المبادرة في الإجتماع الأوّل الذي عقده القائد العام مع محافظ النبطية ، بدعم من العديد من رؤساء البلديات في المنطقة. عُقد جلستان بين اليونيفيل (الشعبة التاسعة ووحدة التعاون المدني العسكري في القطاع الشرقي) والسلطات المحلية المعنيّة، والدفاع المدني في المنطقة وممثلين عن القوات المسلحة اللبنانية الذين اقترحوا تدابير ملموسة فيما يخصّ التنسيق من خلال هيكلة القيادة، كما تمّ تحديد الموارد المتوفّرة. عند التوصّل إلى اتفاق نهائي، ستتم مراسم التوقيع عليه.

LAS ACTIVIDADES CIVICO-MILITARES (CIMIC) DE LA BRIGADA DEL LIBANO IX

Desde su llegada al Líbano la Brigada IX, cuyo contingente mayoritario pertenece a la BRIMZ X con sede en Córdoba, ha seguido con los proyectos Cívico Militares pendientes de la anterior Brigada y ha acometido otros nuevos, de forma que la continuidad en la acción ha estado y estará siempre garantizada.

No había transcurrido una semana desde que llegó la última rotación cuando fue inagurado un Centro Juvenil en la localidad de EL KHIAM, próxima a la Base, por el Excmo. Sr. General Jefe de la Brigada D. Ricardo Álvarez-Espejo García y por el alcalde de la Localidad.

Dicha inauguración coincidió con el primer día del Ramadán el 22 de Agosto y el proyecto ha consistido en comprar e instalar material para una sala de deportes, prendas para el equipo de fútbol, así como muebles y equipos para las oficinas. El coste total ha ascendido a 20.105 $ y ha sido financiado con fondos de UNIFIL.

Otro proyecto ha sido la rehabilitación de la acequia de Dárdara, también en EL KHIAM, cuyo objetivo es mejorar la infraestructura alrededor de la acequia para que pueda ser utilizada por los habitantes como zona de esparcimiento. El proyecto fue comenzado en Julio de este año y estará terminado a finales de Octubre. El coste asciende a (37.000 $) y está financiado íntegramente por el Ministerio de Defensa.

Un proyecto muy importante en la Zona, aunque aparentemente no lo parezca, ha sido la construcción de una valla alrededor de una alberca en la localidad de Kfer Shouba. Esta alberca, muy próxima a la frontera israelí, tenía el problema de que las vacas procedentes del otro lado de la frontera la cruzaban y bebían el agua, lo que motivó las protestas de los pastores libaneses y el tema fue aireado por las autoridades locales hasta el punto de que la construcción de la valla era el único medio de evitar el que las vacas israelíes bebieran, dejando la alberca para uso exclusivo de las libanesas. Los materiales de construcción fueron suministrados por UNIFIL y las obras se han realizado por la Unidad de Ingenieros Española. El 27 de septiembre se inaguró la valla por el General Jefe y las autoridades locales.

Durante los días 17 y 19 de Septiembre se procedió a un reparto de camisetas a los niños de las zonas sunnita y chiíta coincidiendo con las fiestas del fin del Ramadán (fiesta de Eid al Fitr). Se entregaron principalmente a niños necesitados y constituye una buena manera de darse a conocer entre la población civil. En total se repartieron unas 600 camisetas en diferentes localidades.

Hace unos días, concretamente el 2 de Octubre, se inaguró por el General Jefe y las Autoridades locales, un aula de cocina en la Escuela Técnica de Marjayoun, cuyo material ha sido donado por España con cargo a fondos del Ministerio de Defensa y por un importe de 10.340 $. En dicha Escuela se impartirán cursos de cocina.

El día 10 de Octubre se inaguraron un laboratorio en la Escuela Secundaria de Chebaa y un camino que ha sido acondicionado y asfaltado en Kfer Kila. A la primera inauguración asistió el Deputy Commander Coronel Banbang Sudiono junto con autoridades locales y a la segunda el General Jefe, también acompañado del Alcalde de Kfer Kila y otras autoridades. El laboratorio ha costado 4.400 $ y ha sido financiado íntegramente por UNIFIL. El camino asfaltado ha costado 32.400 $ y ha sido financiado por el Ministerio de Defensa y en el acondicionamiento ha colaborado la Unidad de Ingenieros Española. Esta Unidad también ha estado extrayendo agua de la poza de Kfer Kila que fue construida por los Ingenieros del batallón belga (BELUBATT) para evitar que las aguas de lluvia traspasaran la frontera con Israel e inundaran la parte libanesa, todo ello en la carretera que une esa localidad con Odaysse.

El día 18 de Octubre se han entregado los diplomas a los alumnos de un Curso de Mecánica que ha impartido el batallón Indonesio (INDOBATT) y que ha costado 6.140 $. Las clases de mecánica se han impartido a jóvenes desempleados de las poblaciones de la zona de despliegue del Batallón Indonesio y han durado tres meses, tres días a la semana con cinco horas de clase cada día. Las clases las han impartido 5 profesores pertenecientes a la Unidad de Ingenieros Indonesia y se han beneficiado 12 alumnos.

Un proyecto que se va a acometer en breve es la mejora de las infraestructuras en la alberca de Meiss el Jebel. El objetivo específico es finalizar el muro ornamental de la alberca de igual forma que el que existe en la parte frontal y crear en la parte superior una plataforma adoquinada para poder transitar por ella. Esta mejora no será sólo aprovechable por los habitantes de esa localidad, sino por todos los de las poblaciones colindantes, dado que es un lugar para ocio; también la disfrutarán los familiares que viven en el extranjero y vienen a pasar allí sus vacaciones. La inversión supone un importe de (21.000 $). Recientemente se ha firmado el contrato entre las Fuerzas Españolas, el Alcalde de la localidad y la constructora.

Otros proyectos en curso son los siguientes con la financiación de UNIFIL: una pista de baloncesto en Blida por importe de 24.000 $, un parque infantil en Aytaroun que está pendiente de inauguración por un importe de (16.000 $), un centro de defensa civil en Markaba también pendiente de inauguración por importe de 8.060 $, conexión eléctrica de casas en Halta por importe de (18.500 $), pendiente de inauguración, la ampliación de la carretera de Kfer Chouba por importe de 25.386 $ (25.000 $), la construcción de un canal de agua en Mhaieb por importe de 11.930 $ (11.500 $) y el arreglo de una carretera en Bany Hayyan, por importe de 21.800 $).

Con financiación del Ministerio de Defensa están los siguientes proyectos, además de los ya citados, la construcción de una acera en Kawkaba (por importe de 29.500 $), la construcción de un parque infantil en Houla (por importe de 31.400 $), la construcción de un muro en Blate (por importe de 28.300 $) y la compra de material escolar para los niños de la zona de influencia española (por importe de 5.500 $). Además hay cinco proyectos pendientes de aprobación, la rehabilitación del camino al vertedero de Kleyaa por un importe de 12.600 $, la rehabilitación de dos campos de fútbol, uno en Dibbine por importe de 25.300 $ y otro en la localidad de Deir Mimess por importe de 17.100 $, compra de equipamiento para la clínica dental de Ett Taibe por importe de 17.900 $ y la compra de contenedores de basura en Adshit Al Qusayr por importe de 8.900 $).

Como se puede apreciar, las actividades son constantes y las inaguraciones de proyectos constituyen hitos importantes en el devenir de la misión.

En los párrafos anteriores no se ha hecho mención a las asistencias médica (general y dental), veterinaria y psicológica que se da en todas las localidades de la zona de acción del Sector Este. En este campo se cuenta con la aportación de otros contingentes o batallones para atender el tipo de asistencia necesaria. Concretamente la odontológica está en manos de los contingentes indonesio, nepalí e hindú. Desde que comenzó la misión, en asistencia médica primaria se han realizado unas 13 o 14 asistencias al mes con una media de de 20 pacientes por asistencia, lo que hace un total de 280 pacientes. Normalmente no se tratan casos crónicos. En lo referente a la asistencia veterinaria, ésta suele ser solicitada por granjeros y pastores y se atiende a todo tipo de animales.

Otra actividad importante la constituye el PROGRAMA CERVANTES, que consiste en impartir clases de español a quien voluntariamente lo solicite en localidades próximas. Esta actividad está dirigida por el Instituto Cervantes de Beirut y cuenta con profesores del propio contingente español. Hasta la fecha, el número de alumnos ronda los 200 con un notable incremento en las últimas semanas y son necesarios 30 profesores. Las localidades en las que se imparten las clases son 13.

No hay que olvidar otro tipo de actividades como el apoyo a festivales populares y la colaboración con Organizaciones no Gubernamentales (ONG,s) españolas que operan en la zona. Para finalizar, es preciso hacer mención a una iniciativa denominada de Defensa Civil, que consiste en coordinar esfuerzos entre las Instituciones Libanesas, sus Fuerzas Armadas y UNIFIL para hacer frente a desastres naturales o a contingencias extraordinarias que por su entidad no pueden ser acometidas con los escasos recursos locales, tales como incendios, inundaciones, nevadas importantes, etc. Esta iniciativa surgió en la primera reunión que tuvo el General Jefe con el Muhafaz (equivalente a Presidente Autonómico) de Nabatiye, apoyada por muchos alcaldes de la zona. Se han realizado dos reuniones entre UNIFIL (G-9 del Sector Este y Unidad CIMIC), Autoridades locales relevantes, Defensa Civil de la zona y representantes de las FFAA Libanesas en las que se han propuesto medidas concretas de coordinación a través de estructuras de mando, así como se han identificado los recursos de los que se dispone. Una vez se alcance el acuerdo final, se procederá a la ceremonia de la firma.

SPANISH 9Th. LEBANON BRIGADE CIMIC ACTIVITIES

Since its arrival to Lebanon in August 2009, Spanish 9th. LEBANON BRIGADE have been carrying out the projects that the former contingent had started and has tackled new ones in such a way there’s no interruption of the activity.

After a week the last rotation arrived, the opening ceremony of a Youth Center in El Khiam took place. It was inaugurated by SECEAST COMMANDER Gen. Álvarez-Espejo and the village Mayor. That opening ceremony matched with Ramadan first day on 22th. August and the project has consisted on buying and installing sporting materials for a sport hall, garments for two soccer teams as well as furniture and office equipment. Total cost amounted to 20.105 $ and financed by UNIFIL.

Another project has been the restoration of Dardara pool, also in El Khiam, whose purpose is to improve the infrastructure of the surrounding area in order to be used by inhabitants as a recreation zone. The project began in July 2009 and will be finished by the end of October. Total cost amounted to 37.000 $ and financed by Spanish Ministry of defense.

A very important project in the Area although it doesn´t seem so, has been the building of a fence in the outskirts of Baathail pond in Kfer Chouba. That pond, very close to Hassan gate and Israel border, had a lot of trouble because Israeli cows drank the water of the pond after crossing the technical fence which provoked Lebanese shepherds’ protest and the subject was aired by local authorities to the extent of the fence building was the only way to avoid Israeli cows drinking, letting the pond only for Lebanese ones. Building materials have been supplied by UNIFIL and works have been carried out by Spanish engineers unit. On 27 th. September the fence was inaugurated by SECEAST COMMANDER and Local Authorities.

On 17th. And 19th. September a T-shirts delivery in muslim villages matching with end of Ramadan Holidays was carried out. The shirts were mainly delivered to needy children and it could be the best way to announce UNIFIL. More than 600 shirts were delivered.

A few days ago, on 2Th. October to be precise, a classroom for cookery was inaugurated in Marjayoun Technical School, whose materials have been donated by Spanish Ministry of Defense and cost amounted to 10.340 $. Training classes for cookery will be given in that school.

On 10Th. October a lab in Chebaa Secondary School was inaugurated as well as a road in Kfer Kila which was restored by Spanish Engineers Team and local firms. The first inauguration was chaired by Deputy SECEAST COMMANDER and Chebaa Mayor. The second one was chaired by SECEAST COMMANDER along with Kfer Kila Mayor and other local authorithies. The lab cost amounted to 4.400 $ and funded by UNIFIL. The asphalted road cost amounted to 32.400 $ financed by Spanish Ministry of Defense. The Spanish Engineers Unit has been extracting water from a spilling pond built by Belgian Engineers to avoid waters from the other part of the border flooding the Lebanese fields. That pond is located in the road from Kfer Kila to Odaysse.

On 18th. October was held a final ceremony of mechanical skirls vocational training course, delivering certificates to the students. The course was conducted by Indonesian Engineering Platoon, 5 trainers in 3 months, 3 times attendance a week with 4 hours lesson each day. The cost was 6.140 $.

A new project to be tackled soon is the infrastructure improvement in Meiss el Jebel pool. The specific aim is to end in the ornamental wall in same way that the one in the front of the pool and to build in the upper part a paved platform permitting the movements. This improvement will make good use not only for people living in the village but for the people living in the adjoining villages, provided that is a place for leisure. People living abroad and coming to spend holidays here, also will enjoy it. The project will mean an investment of 21.000 $. The contract has been signed amid Spanish Contingent, village Mayor and building contractor.

Other ongoing projects funded by UNIFIL are: a basketball court in Blida whose cost is 24.000 $, a playpen in Aytaroun still pending of inauguration, 16.000 $, a Civil defense Center in Markaba still pending of inauguration, 8.060 $, electric connections of houses in Halta, 18.500 $, also still pending of inauguration, the road extension of Kfer Chouba, 25.386 $, a water channel construction in Mhaieb, 11.580 $ and the restoration of a road in Bany Hayyan, 21.800 $.

Other projects funded by Spanish ministry of Defense are a sidewalk in Kawkaba, 29.500 $, a playpen in Houla, 31.400 $, a wall construction in Blate, 28.300 $ and the purchasing and delivering of school materials for children living in SECEAST Area of responsibility, 5.500 $.

In addition, there are five projects pending of approval, the restoration of a track leading to Kleyaa dumping site for garbage, the restoration of two soccer fields, one in Dibbine, 25. 300 $ and another in Deir Mimess, 17.100 $, purchasing of equipment to dental office in Et Taibe, 17.900 $ and finally purchasing of garbage containers for Adshit Al-Qusayr, 8.900 $.

As you see, there are a lot of activities and project inaugurations are the milestones of the mission evolution.

In previous paragraphs it hasn’t been mentioned the medical and dental, psychological and veterinary assistance, which are given in all the villages of the Area. In this field of responsibility it´s included the activity carried out by other contingents. Dental assistance is in the hands of Indonesian, Nepalese and Indian contingents.

Since the mission began, the medical primary assistance has been given to 280 patients. Normally chronic diseases are not to be treated, concerning veterinary assistance is required by farmers and all kinds of animals are treated, goats, cows, dromedaries, etc. Another important activity is Cervantes programme, consisting on giving Spanish language classes for people who wants to learn our language.

We cannot forget another kind of activities such as support to festivals and cooperation with NGO,s. It´s necessary to mention an initiative called Defense Civil, consisting on coordinate efforts amid Lebanese and Institutions, LAF and UNIFIL to face natural disasters such as floods, fires, snow falls which due to their significance cannot be undertaken by local resources. That initiative arose in the first meeting held by SECEAST COMMANDER and Muhafaz of Nabatiyeh, supported by most of Mayors and local authorities. Three meetings have been held amid UNIFIL, relevant local authorities, Civil defense authority and LAF representatives in which proposals of coordination measures as well as identification of available resources have been dealt with. When the final agreement were achieved, the ceremony of signature will be hold.
