تنفيذاً لقرار الأمم المتحدة رقم 1701 المتعلق بقوة الأمم المتحدة المؤقتة في لبنان وما يلحق ذلك من تعزيز وتنفيذ مجموعة واسعة من الأنشطة.

فقد تم تنسيق برامج تنموية مع الاخذ بعين الإعتبار الوسائل والقدرات داخل القطاع الشرقي لليونيفيل والحاجات اللبنانية. ومن بين المجالات التي يمكن لليونيفيل أن تقدم فيها دعما كبيرا هي المساعدة الزراعية للمزارعين اللبنانيين.

إنها المرة الأولى التي تتخذ فيها مثل هذه المبادرة لتقديم هذا النوع من المساعدة. وسيكون لهذا المسعى أثر متوسط وطويل الأمد على السكان اللبنانيين. كانت الوحدة الإسبانية تخطط لمبادرة ناجحة جدا تتمثل في تقديم المساعدة الزراعية من خلال فرق المهندسين الزراعيين الإسبانية القادمة من الجامعات الإسبانية.

وفي إطار هذا البرنامج، قدم فريق من المهندسين الزراعيين الإسبان من 4 إلى 14 شباط برنامجا للمساعدة العلمية تم تنسيقه مع السلطات المحلية والمزارعين.

ويعد هذا النشاط أداة مهمة جدا لدعم التنمية الاقتصادية للمنطقة ولتعزيز العلاقة مع سكان لبنان.

إن قوة الأمم المتحدة المؤقتة في لبنان تؤمن إيمانا قويا بأن تعزيز العلاقة في هذا الميدان سيجعلنا أقرب إلى تحقيق مهمتنا على نحو أفضل.

SPANISH AGRICULTURISTS VISIT SOUTH LEBANON UNDER THE ‘ALMAZARA’ PROGRAM TO IMPROVE THE AGRICULTURAL YIELD OF LOCAL FARMERS

Implementation of 1701 United Nations Resolution by UNIFIL is being carried out by promoting and executing a broad range of activities.

These development programs have been tailored taking into account the means and capabilities within SECEAST and the Lebanese necessities. One of the areas where UNIFIL can provide a highly appreciated support is the agricultural assistance to Lebanese agriculturists.

It is the first time that such an initiative has been taken to provide this kind of assistance. This endeavor will have a medium and long term impact on the Lebanese population. Spanish contingent has been planning a very successful initiative consisting of providing agricultural assistance through Spanish agricultural engineer teams coming from Spanish universities.

Under this program, a Spanish agricultural engineer team from 4th to 14th February has been providing a scientific assistance program which has been coordinated with local authorities and agriculturist.

This activity is a very important tool to support the economic development of the area and to enforce the relationship with the population of Lebanon
