زار السفير الاسباني في لبنان، خوسيه ماريا فيرير دي لا بينيا، جنوب لبنان للمشاركة في احتفال ديني في بلدة القليعة لاحياء ذكرى الجنود الاسبان الذين استشهدوا وتكريمهم.

أمام النصب التذكاري في الخيام قام عناصر من الكتيبة الاسبانية التاسعة والعشرون في اليونيفيل العاملة في القطاع الشرقي "BRILIB XXIX"، وبحضور السفير الاسباني في لبنان وممثلين عن الجيش اللبناني، بتقديم التحية والتكريم للجنود الذين استشهدوا في الهجوم الذي وقع في الخيام في الذكرى الحادية عشر لاستشهادهم.

وقد سبق الاحتفال التكريمي احتفال ديني في كنيسة القليعة لاحياء ذكرى جميع الجنود الاسبان الذين ضحوا بحياتهم. بعد ذلك ، قدم عناصر من الكتيبة الإسبانية بالاشتراك مع وحدة من الجيش اللبناني التحية والتكريم لكل الجنود الذين سقطوا في مهمة حفظ السلام هذه والجنود الذين ضحوا بأرواحهم لتحقيق السلام في لبنان.

اخيراً، اختتم الاحتفال بعزف الأناشيد في ذكرى الشهداء وبوضع اكليل الغار على النصب التذكاري.

SPANISH AMBASSADOR TO LEBANON, JOSE MARÍA FERRER DE LA PEÑA PAYS HOMAGE TO FALLEN SOLDIERS

The Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon, Jose María Ferrer De La Peña, visited the South of Lebanon to participate in the religious ceremony in Kleyaa and to pay homage to the soldiers who were martyred in El Khiam.

In front of the commemorative monolith and with the presence of the Ambassador of Spain in Lebanon, the components of the UNIFIL Sector East Brigade, ‘BRILIB XXIX’, accompanied by representatives of the LAF, paid tribute to those martyred in the attack of El KIAM on its 11th anniversary.

The tribute ceremony was preceded by a religious ceremony in the Kleyaa´s church, remembering all the Spanish soldiers who had laid down their lives. After this a representation of the Spanish Brigade with a unit of the Lebanese armed forces offered a sensitive tribute to all the fallen soldiers in this peacekeeping mission who had laid down their lives to achieve peace in Lebanon.

With the hymn singing in memory of the fallen and the laying of a laurel wreath in his memory the tribute concluded.
